Help and Opportunity in the Pursuit of Education

Help and Opportunity in the Pursuit of Education is a nonprofit focused on improving nutrition and food access in home based child care settings.

We work with two groups

Home based early childhood educators who operate licensed businesses from their homes

Family, friend, and neighbor caregivers who provide care within families and communities

These roles are different, and our work reflects those differences.

Food is part of daily life in child care. In home based settings, food is also shaped by limited space, long days, tight budgets, and the realities of caring for young children in a home.

Conversations about early childhood nutrition often overlook these conditions. Our work exists to support caregivers within the realities they face.

We focus on nutrition support that fits into everyday caregiving in homes. We respect the knowledge caregivers already bring and recognize that food choices are connected to time, cost, and sustainability.

This organization is in its early stages. We are building partnerships and seeking funding to pilot small efforts alongside the educators and caregivers we support.

Our goal is to grow slowly and responsibly, guided by the needs of home based caregivers.
